What is RossRu?
RossRu is a wound dressing gel that helps maintain a moist wound environment that is conducive to healing, by either absorbing or donating the moisture and wound exudates and may inhibit the growth of microorganisms with its silver nanoparticles. An OTC product for topical management of minor cuts, lacerations, abrasions, 1st and 2nd degree burns, and skin irritations.
What is it used for?
• Optimized for topical management of minor cuts, lacerations and abrasions.
• May be used for partial and full thickness wounds, pressure related ulcerations, diabetic related ulcerations, surgical wounds and virtually all types of lacerations, abrasions, and first aid applications.
• Cleansing and protecting skin from acne-related conditions.
• For topical management of 1st and 2nd degree burns.
• For topical management of sensitive skin and skin irritations.
What is in RossRu?
All Ross Ru® products contain the following ingredients: de-ionized water, carbomer, silver nanoparticles, and sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment only). Ross Ru®’s ingredients were selected because they are not known, or even believed, to cause any allergic sensitivity.
Ross Ru® contains silver, which in in vitro tests has demonstrated effectiveness against: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphyloccusaureus, antibiotic resistant strains, MRSA and VR, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus niger.
The goal was to design a simple, effective, multi-purpose topical product that, with minor variations, can address a range of known existing needs.
Why silver nanoparticles?
Ross Ru® uses elemental silver in the form of nanoparticles. Total elemental concentrations used in Ross Ru® (1ppm) have not shown to be of any health concern even if used over long time periods. No alginates or silver salts are used in Ross Ru.
Through a proprietary process, bioTD incorporates nanoparticles that are optimally sized and shaped, and with the ideal surface structure to: a) lead a greater proportion of the silver to reach the microbial load to the host, rather than the host tissue; and b) expose a very large surface area for ionic interaction with microbial cell structures. In vitro tests show the 1ppm of total silver in Ross Ru® to have similar anti-microbial effects to those claimed by products containing 30ppm or even 100ppm of silver nitrate or silver alginate compounds.
